The Must-Have: A Travel Tray

Before we talk activities, you need a car seat travel tray. It gives kids a flat surface to draw, play, and snack on. Without it, everything slides off their laps and ends up under the seat.

I organize activities by time blocks. Here’s how I break up a 6-hour drive:

Hour 1-2: Easy Wins

• Snack box (the excitement of opening it buys you time)
• Window clings
• A new small toy (wrapped — unwrapping = bonus time)

Hour 2-3: Active Play

• Water Wow pads on the travel tray

• Magnetic drawing board

Hour 3-4: Audio Time
